CERAMIC COATING

Your vehicle’s paint takes a beating in the Lowcountry. Between the salt air rolling in off the May River, relentless subtropical UV, and humidity that traps pollen against every surface, unprotected paint fades and oxidizes fast. Ceramic coating in the Lowcountry is the most effective way to defend your vehicle — a professional-grade liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your clear coat and creates a long-lasting shield against oxidation, fading, and chemical etching.

Lux Detailer brings premium ceramic coating directly to driveways across the Lowcountry — from Sun City and Belfair to Berkeley Hall, Palmetto Bluff, Hampton Hall, Hampton Lake, and Old Town Bluffton. Our fully mobile ceramic coating service means zero shop drop-offs and zero disruptions to your day. We set up on-site, prep your vehicle to perfection, and apply coating right in your driveway. WHY VEHICLES NEED CERAMIC COATING

Every ceramic coating job at Lux Detailer starts with a full decontamination wash — foam cannon pre-soak, pH-neutral hand wash, iron fallout removal, and clay bar treatment to strip every embedded contaminant from the surface. Bluffton’s coastal proximity means salt and industrial fallout build up faster than a regular wash can handle, making this step critical before any coating bonds properly.

On our correction packages, paint correction comes next. Using a dual-action polisher, we remove swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation in a two-stage machine correction, so the coating locks in corrected paint rather than sealing defects underneath. Then we apply the ceramic coating — layered by hand with professional-grade applicators using methods refined over years of hands-on experience, then allowed to cure under our shade tent, out of the sun and rain. The result is a rock-hard, hydrophobic finish that beads water on contact and stays glossy for years. Read our FAQ for care instructions.

  • Premium 9H base ceramic coating for paintwork, lasts 2 to 3 years
  • Full clay bar decontamination and surface preparation

MOST POPULAR
Ceramic Coating + Paint Correction
$1,099
About 5 hours
Large vehicle +$100

Our most popular coating — the paint is corrected first, then sealed under 9H ceramic. 3 to 5 years of protection with proper care.

  • Machine polishing of paintwork to remove swirls and light scratches
  • Premium 9H base ceramic coating, lasts 3 to 5 years
  • Full clay bar decontamination and surface preparation
  • Everything included in the Ceramic Coating Package

Correcting before coating is what makes the finish last. The coating locks in corrected paint rather than sealing swirls underneath it. That holds for a brand-new car too — factory paint arrives with sanding marks, transport damage and dealer wash swirls, and correcting them is what lets the coating bond properly.

Double Ceramic Coating + Paint Correction
$1,499
About 6 hours 30 minutes
Large vehicle +$100

Our most protective package — corrected paint, a 9H base coat, and a specialty ceramic top coat. 5 to 7 years of protection with proper care.

  • Specialty ceramic top coating over the base coating, lasts 5 to 7 years
  • Machine polishing of paintwork to remove swirls and light scratches
  • Premium 9H base ceramic coating
  • Full clay bar decontamination and surface preparation

The top coat adds depth, slickness and durability over the base layer.

A large vehicle means a 3-row SUV, van, lifted or dually truck, or anything oversized. The fee is shown on each package above. Two $399 bundles can be added to any coating package. Glass & Wheels Coating — $399. Interior Ceramic Coating — $399: leather, plastic and vinyl cleaned, prepped and sealed with a specialty professional-grade coating. Either one is an add-on, not a package on its own. Heavy pet hair, embedded stains or sand may need Custom Work at $120 per hour, always quoted on-site before we start.

OUR CERAMIC COATING PROCESS

Our ceramic coating process begins with full clay bar decontamination and surface preparation, and our correction packages add a two-stage machine correction to cut swirl marks, scratches and oxidation — because ceramic coating locks in whatever condition your paint is in. Once the surface is perfected, we apply professional-grade SiO2 ceramic coating under our shade tent in your driveway or garage, on a day the weather allows. The result is a durable hydrophobic shield that repels water, UV rays, bird droppings, tree sap, and road chemicals. Every application includes full paint decontamination, clay bar treatment, and multiple inspection passes under LED lighting to ensure flawless coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions

A professional-grade ceramic coating applied by Lux Detailer typically lasts 2 to 7 years in the Lowcountry, depending on the package selected and maintenance routine. Our premium coatings provide superior protection against the Lowcountry’s humidity, salt air, UV rays, and environmental contaminants. Get a quote for your vehicle.
Ceramic coating is a semi-permanent liquid polymer that bonds with your paint at a molecular level, providing years of protection. Traditional wax lasts only weeks and requires frequent reapplication. Ceramic coating offers superior hydrophobic properties, UV resistance, chemical resistance, and a deeper, longer-lasting gloss than any wax or sealant.
Our ceramic coating packages are $599 for the Ceramic Coating Package, $1,099 for Ceramic Coating with Paint Correction, and $1,499 for the Double Ceramic Coating with Paint Correction. Those prices are the same for most vehicles. Oversized vehicles — 3-row SUVs, vans, lifted or dually trucks — add a Large Vehicle Fee of $100. Request a custom quote based on your specific vehicle.
Absolutely. Applying ceramic coating to a new vehicle is the ideal scenario because the paint is in optimal condition. At Lux Detailer, we recommend coating new vehicles as soon as possible to preserve that factory finish and prevent environmental damage from day one. A light paint decontamination is still performed before application.
